Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Farris
1. Conference Period – 1:05 - 1:50

2. School begins each day at 7:50 and ends at 3:30
a. Breakfast begins at 7:30
b. Car riders are to be picked up in the car lanes closest to the building by the cafeteria windows. Car riders will go out at 3:30
c. If your child rides with a 4th or 5th grader, they will be picked up in the car lanes in the parking lot.
3. Lunch 11:10-11:40
a. Breakfast and lunch is free to students
b. **ANY FOOD ITEMS BROUGHT FROM HOME MUST BE IN A LUNCH BAG OR BOX
4. Tuesday Folder – This will come home every Tuesday unless there is a Monday holiday. Then expect the folder to come home on Wednesday. The Tuesday folder includes the previous weeks graded papers, any notes from the office, and a HOME NOTE. The Home Note is a note that contains the homework notes, vocabulary words, spelling words, information on coming events, what we are doing in class, the AR goals and who has made their goal for the week, and the high AR point earner for the week.
5. Planners – your child will be given a planner to use DAILY. The planner is used to keep spelling words, daily assignments, and parent contact. The instructions are in the front of the planner. Students will put their spelling words in the planner on Monday, write each day’s assignments, and have a parent signature EVERY day when they read 20 minutes at home.

8. Library – we go to the library every week. Your child will get to check out 2 books. One must be on their reading level; the other can be their choice.
9. Nurse –
a. If your child takes medication or needs medication on a regular basis, please see the nurse to fill out a release form. The nurse is NOT allowed to give any medication if you do not supply it and fill out the release.
b. We want all kids to attend school every day, but if your child has a fever – please follow the fever free for 24 hours rule. We don’t want to make others sick too.
10. PE – We will go to PE every other day. TENNIS SHOES ARE REQUIRED FOR PE

b. BLUE WEEK – PE on MW
