It is a pleasure to serve you and your student as the principal of Madisonville Intermediate School.  If there is anything I can do to assist you or your student reach out to me.

The staff at Madisonville Intermediate School is excited to begin another productive school year with our wonderful students and families. Thank you for helping us get the school year off to a great start.  Our faculty and staff have been working hard to have everything in order so that all students have the opportunity for a successful school year.

We have developed plans to meet the needs of our students while maintaining a safe environment for everyone.

During the next school year, our parents are encouraged to keep in touch with their student's teacher as we partner to help our students achieve to the maximum extent possible. To keep you informed, we ask that you read all of the information that is sent home in our Tuesday folders, read the information on our web page, and join our PTO.

Regular hours for Madisonville Intermediate School will be 7:50-3:35 each day. It is important for students to arrive on time and remain all day. Universal Breakfast (free to all students) will be provided to all students in class as part of the school day.  Our building will open at 7:20 a.m. please do not drop your child off before that time. Also, note that the dismissal times for all of the MCISD schools are different. As in the past, Madisonville Elementary will release students first. These students need to be picked up first. All other MCISD campuses have later release times. It is not necessary to arrive at the campus excessively early to pick up your child.  The dismissal line moves quickly.

To ease our traffic flow at the end of the school day, the following will occur: All third grade students and any older students riding in a car with them will exit the side doors located by the cafeteria. All fourth grader students and any older students riding in a car with them will exit at the front of the building. All fifth grade students will exit the side doors located at the end of their hallway. We have approximately 500 students on our campus, so we ask that you not request that your child be sent to another pick up area. When we use a pattern that is familiar to all school employees, then we are all able to determine where our students are to travel when school is dismissed.

Please confirm with your child their mode of transportation (car rider or bus rider) each day from school.  If you have extenuating circumstances that require a change in the way they are to get home in the afternoon, please phone the school no later than 1:30 so that we can confirm the change with your student and make sure they are in the right place at the right time. Non emergency changes will not be made after this time.

You are welcome to bring your student in on the first day of school; thereafter, please support us as we work to help your student become as independent as possible. Please allow your student to walk into the building unassisted. As for visits during a student’s lunch period, we request that you wait until an opportunity is extended later in the year. Lunch visits will not be permitted during times when we are reducing the number of students in the building to maintain social distancing guidelines.

Also please encourage your child to read at home each night.  Good reading skills are fundamental to their success in all subject areas.

The district prohibits bullying on school property, at school-sponsored or school-related activities, or in any vehicle operated by the district. Students or parents may report an alleged incident of bullying, orally or in writing, to a teacher, counselor, principal or other district employee. Students or parents may contact the district to obtain an incident report form that may be used to submit the complaint.

More information about the district’s bullying policy can be found at www.madisonvillecisd.org or the campus principal’s office.

Please feel free to contact me at the school when you have concerns. I am looking forward to another great school year.

If ever we can be of assistance this year, please do not hesitate to call.

God Bless and Go Mustangs!
