Welcome!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Bowden, and I am thrilled to be your child’s fifth-grade math teacher this year. I hold a Bachelor's in Education and a Master’s in Teaching and Learning from SHSU, and this is my fifth year teaching math at the fifth-grade level. I am excited for the growth and success we will experience together in class.
In our class, we’re focused on growing in math, confidence, character, and responsibility. My goal is to create a safe, productive, and fun environment where students feel empowered to take ownership of their learning. We’ll focus on building essential math skills while also incorporating technology to enhance our understanding. Along the way, students will also develop strong habits in organization and responsibility.
To ensure a successful learning experience, students will need to bring a composition notebook, a math folder, a pencil, a highlighter, and a red pen to class each day. There will also be a half-page of homework assigned daily, and students are expected to write the daily objective in their planner.
I will keep families updated through Google Classroom and ParentSquare, and I encourage you to check your child’s agenda and Tuesday folder regularly. If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via Remind or email at [email protected].
I am looking forward to a year filled with growth, joy, and lots of learning!
