we would like to thank you for your service to our district this year we have been focusing on the concept of developing a growth mindset we all know that IQ is not the only difference between our highest and lowest achieving students we know that many of the concept that we ask our students to master are very difficult we know that many of the strategies we ask for teachers to effectively use five everyday are also difficult doing well in school and in life depends on much more than our ability to learn quickly or easily research tells us that one particular characteristic has emerged as a significant indicator of success and it's not IQ its grit grit is having passion and perseverance for a very long time for long-term goals it is stamina it's sticking with goals day in and day out working hard for a long time without giving up talent doesn't make one have grit we are working on growing Grit developing a growth mindset enjoy this video of a group of our 4th grade students learning to push through because we are gritty about getting our kids grid what if it's too hard what if it's too rough what if you're just too young what if you're not good at why because I believe in you
