Welcome to Mrs. Sanders' 5th grade Science Class!!

Dear Madisonville Intermediate students and parents,
I hope you are well and enjoying your extended break! I sure miss seeing your smiling faces.

All fifth grade students have been sent an email invitation to join Google Classroom.  There will be ONE Google class for all of fifth grade, where they can access math, reading, science, and social studies assignments.

Students can go to the following link:

username: firstname.lastname
password: lunch number plus 3 zeros

This will log them into classlink, where they will have an icon for Google Class.  The code to join this class is mylpjps.
If you are unable to print from home, please plan on picking up a packet from the high school lunch line.  If you cannot print or pick up hard copies, students can view the assignments on a device and record their answers on a sheet of paper.

Please do not bring completed work to the school to turn in.  Keep it together in one place and bring it when school resumes.  Special Education students will be receiving an appropriate work packet in the mail.

Students should be reviewing material in their Science Notebook so that everything stays fresh in their minds.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance during this time!  I am here for you all!
I miss you & stay well! :)

Love,
Mrs. Sanders

Instructional Material for March 16-20
Work was sent home with your students to complete while we are out for the week of March 16th through the 20th. Students should complete the packet and read through the Stemscopedia covering Sun, Earth and Moon.  This is located in their science journals. As they read through this material, they should be underlining and annotating important information, just like we do in class. Students should then complete the chart listing characteristics of the Sun, Earth and Moon.  Students should also review the material that is already in their science journal over the Sun, Earth and Moon along with the planets.  They also were provided with a packet of review questions that should be completed.  If your student still has the Fusion book that was sent home at the beginning of the year, they can use that to review previously covered material. Also, all students should have their science journals with them and are able to review past concepts.  Vocabulary is key in 5th grade science.

I have provided some great resources under the "links" tab for your students to use this week. We are currently on our Earth and Space Unit. Quizlet has games that the students can use to better familiarize themselves with the vocabulary. These are many great resources that I will be continuing to add for the students to use. If you have any questions, please e-mail me or send me a message through Remind!

I will be using Remind to keep parents and students updated about upcoming assignments and events for our class.  If you have not joined please join now to stay informed.

I will be updating my website frequently in order to continue to educate and provide resources for our kids!  I miss them all so much and can't wait to get to see their smiling faces soon!
