I am fulfilling a lifetime passion for working with children. After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, I began my professional career working in child welfare. Working in child welfare for 7 years gave me a unique perspective and insight into the challenges that many students face. When my husband, children and I relocated to Madisonville, I began substitute teaching. During my time substituting at MCISD, I realized that teaching was the perfect way to blend my passion for helping and teaching children. I taught 4th grade for 5 years before deciding to return to college for my Masters in Education to become the school counselor. I am excited to serve the students at Madisonville Intermediate School. Please feel free to let me know if I can do anything to help you! I strive to stay abreast of the latest topics and issues related to school counseling. Currently, I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association and Association of Texas Professional Educators.
